Communication station

Communication between team members is one of the most important aspects of becoming successful in today’s society. Although sometimes it may be hard to communicate between certain members in your group due to their poor language skills or their ethnicity, you will always have to find common ground in which to communicate. For example, earlier this year I had to switch one of my instructors for a class because he/she was an immigrant and I found it extremely difficult to understand what he/she was trying to convey. It was not the fact that he/she was a bad teacher or anything, I just did not get their analogies and was not able to break down what he/she was trying to express. I am sure that this is not the first time in which something like this has happened. So I was wondering if a similar situation has happened to any of you and if so please explain.

  1. Yes I have been in a very similar situation this year in fact. The same thing has happen to me where I had to switch classes just because of the fact my instructor had a very strong Accent. I was having a very hard time being able to understand the material. So before it became too late I switch myself into a different class. It was a very smart decision for me now not only do I understand the material better but I’m dong way better in my class. I feel if I didn’t switch classes that I would have done very poorly in the class or even failed.

  2. Good to see this point in your blog as I face the same kind of situation most of time in my life but later as the time passes I can understand the content better and clear.
